Accessibility at Donwood School

“Standards for Student Services,” a section of The Public Schools Act, requires schools to provide accessibility information to parents new to the school division.

At Donwood School there are two levels. Access to the lower level is gained by taking ten stairs from the foyer/landing, while the upper level is fourteen stairs up from the foyer/landing. There is an elevator in the school to access all levels. There are wheelchair accessible washrooms on both levels.

The large schoolyard offers many wide, level pathways, and access to the schoolyard is easily gained from the parking lot or the school. There is no wheelchair ramp on either of the two play structures.

Donwood School parking lot has one handicapped parking spot. There is a ramp and a wide sidewalk connecting the parking lot with the school.
